My Core Values

  • 1. Be Authentic

Don’t be afraid of expressing who you are to the world .Don’t feel the need to please others or try to compromise with their opinions, if you disagree, say you disagree. If you’re not sure, don’t just go along with it. It’s ok to say that you don’t know

Speak your mind and how you feel. You are not putting on a show for anyone. When you look at yourself in the mirror you should feel confident that your reflection is someone the rest of the world knows.

  • 2. Do the Right Thing Right

Do it right or do it twice. Perfection is a lot of little things done well. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Slow down to speed up. All of these are phrases that can be used to describe this core value. The harder path is oftentimes the one that is more rewarding. Don’t try to take shortcuts to save time. Take the extra time to make things the way they should be.

Pay attention to all the little details because at the end of the day those are going to be the ones that will matter most. It’s about integrity and character. Do less, but do better.

  • 3. The Eternal Student

You will never be a master. There is always something more to learn. As a student your job is not only to learn, but to also find out what you need to learn.

Knowledge is out there in the most unlikely of places. Everyone and everything can teach you something new. It is your responsibility to be attentive and to seek out those lessons. An open mind and a new perspective means that knowledge and inspiration is all around you.

Everything is worth learning and interesting. If you find something boring then that just means you’re approaching it from the wrong angle.

  • 4. Live a Focused Life

Trying to do too many things at once is what causes mediocrity in everything. Instead stay focused on the things you want to be good at. It’s ok if there is a lot, but when doing them make sure you take them one at a time. When you feel overwhelmed and losing focus remember to take a step back, assess, and organize.

Similarly, don’t try to own everything. You really only need a few key possessions. If something is worth owning then make sure that it’s the best. Have one back up in case of an emergency but everything else can go.

  • 5. Embrace Being Alive

The world is such an exciting place and it’s a great place to live in. Make sure that you are present in the fact that you are alive and enjoy the feeling. Happy, sad, emotions, frustration, all of these things are signs of being alive. Do the things that you won’t regret down the line, knowing that each event helps to make life a full experience.
